In celebration of pride month, here’s a list of a few of our favourite loud and proud LGBT+ moments on television 2017 has brought us so far.

1.  Sense8: Lito’s speech at Sao Paolo Pride

The second and final (why, Netflix? Why?) season of one of the most diverse and inclusive series in the history of television had what was probably the most loud and proud scene of the year. After giving a beautiful speech, which for a long time he didn’t think he would ever give, Lito takes Hernando’s hand, introduces him to the crowd and says: “he’s the love of my life” before giving him a kiss that brought happy tears to everyone’s eyes.  His love for Hernando was stronger than his fear.

Episode: 2×6 ‘Isolated Above, Connected Below’

Song: Back Where I Belong -Otto Knows and Avicii

Music Supervisor: Lana Wachowski

2. The Get Down: Rumi & Thor

The Get Down came back earlier this year with its second series, or second part, crazier and better than ever. A season that left us all in shock. But within all the madness that went down, there was a peaceful moment for Rumi/Dizzee and Thor, one of the only scenes that were just… happy. Just two boys, loving life, loving each other, loving art and being themselves.

Episode: 2×05 ‘Only From Exile Can We Come Home’

Song:  Have You Heard -Miguel

Music Supervisor: Stephanie Diaz-Matos

3. Orange Is The New Black: Vauseman Proposal

No one can deny OITNB’s fifth season was a rollercoaster of stress and emotions. But in a very Alex and Piper manner, we were reminded that love does conquer all. Like them or hate them, ‘Vauseman’ seem to be stronger than ever, and finally, five years later, we know they will (or will try to) be together forever. After a long, heartfelt conversation with her mother, Piper rushed back into their hiding place to ask Alex to marry her. Somehow, the show managed to turn an old inmate-made bunker into the perfect location. It only makes sense for these two to decide to spend their lives together in the middle of a riot.

4. Pretty Little Liars: “I love you”

Pretty Little Liars is saying goodbye with its seventh and last series. Fans of the show have been waiting for Emily and Alison to get together for years, and with this moving confession, suppose we can say they were right, Emison is endgame.

Episode: 7×16 ‘The Glove That Rocks the Cradle’

Song: Some Devil -Dave Matthews

Music Supervisor: Christopher Mollere

5. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: “I’m Lemonading”

Let’s step away from the love and relationships for a second and take a look at the very dramatic, but let’s be honest, very relatable Titus Andromedon from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. After finding out his boyfriend Mikey was cheating on him (or so he thought) he did what any reasonable person would do in that situation: HE LEMONADED. We don’t need to say anything else, just watch it.

Episode: 3×02 ‘Kimmy’s Roommate Lemonades!’

Music: Giancarlo Vulcano/Jeff Richmond

6. Sense8: Nomi and Amanita’s proposal

And we’re back to Sense8, saying goodbye to these characters hurts our hearts, so lets finish this list how we started it. Nomi and Amanita, one of the strongest most beautiful couples we’ve seen on this show, re-defined the term ‘relationship goals’ when they both proposed to each other in this heartwarming scene. We’re not crying, you’re crying.

Episode: 2×10 ‘If All The World’s a Stage, Identity Isn’t Nothing But a Costume’

Music Supervisor: Lana Wachowski

Composer: Johnny Klimek
